Mammoth Condos – Leaving Behind Urban Life

If you’re headed for a lifestyle change, then there is no better place to look for a new condo than in the beautiful town of Mammoth Lakes. This is a small but active region that is just four square miles in total.

The year round resident population is about 7,000. These are the rugged souls who have consciously chosen to leave behind urban life and experience the beauty of an unparalleled natural setting in one of the many comfortable and warm Mammoth Lakes condos.

The town of Mammoth Lakes was officially incorporated in the year 1984 and is located right in the Inyo National Forest of California. The Mammoth Lakes condos are surrounded by acres of forest. The protected wilderness areas that gave inspiration to legendary photographer Ansel Adams and renowned writer John Muir are within a short distance of most of the Old Mammoth condos.

In fact, any of the Mammoth Lakes condos are within driving distance of Yosemite National Park, which is just 32 miles north. Along with the Mammoth Golf Course Condos, the Mammoth Condos sit in the southern half of Mono County, which is an exceptionally diverse area of Eastern California.

Mono County is approximately 3,000 square miles. On the western edge of the county rests the Sierra Nevada crest. This region is known for its mountains, lakes, streams and forests. It’s a beautiful region of the state with gentle, rolling escarpments and crisp, clear waterways, while the eastern slope of the Sierra drops steeply into a valley floor. The Town of Mammoth Lakes and the Mammoth Lakes condos are located in the southwestern region of Mono County. Many of its trails, campgrounds and roads cross through or near the crest of the Sierra.

One of the most spectacular features of this area is the Mammoth Mountain Ski Area, which is one of the finest ski resorts in the western United States. If the thought of living near a ski resort sounds like heaven to you, then you’ll want to take a look at the Eagle Lodge Condos. This area is one of the most popular places of permanent residence in the region. There is a ski lift that originates at the heart of Eagle Lodge making a handful of these condos ski in/ski out residences.

Another great choice are the Canyon Lodge Condos, once known as “Warming Huts” to old timers. They would pass through the area and visit to come in from the cold. These condos are available for purchase as are the Mammoth Meadow Condos, which have proven to do very well in the nightly rentals market. These ski in/ski out complexes, like the Eagle Lodge Condos have lots of room for families and children and offer a special family ski experience.

You’ll also want to look into the Village at Mammoth Condos. Especially, if you love intermingling with new people, as this set of condos is smack dab in the heart of the Town of Mammoth Lakes and attracts the primarily tourist-based economy. They even have their own Tourism & Recreation department to welcome visitors which helps to promote the town, the ski resorts, the Mammoth Lakes condos, as well as, the Inyo National Forest.
