Mammoth has a small amount of fractional ownership properties.
Quite frankly, they just haven’t been economically successful. They have not proliferated because Mammoth remains primarily a regional resort and not a destination resort. There are a handful of fractional ownership condos from the 1970’s and 80’s and those fractional interests come to the market from time to time. They are typically found at Mammoth Ski & Racquet and The Woodlands.
80/50 and Tallus
During the real estate boom of the mid-2000’s two fractional projects were developed. I was assured this was “the next big trend in resort real estate.” The 80/50 project (8050 simply being the elevation of the project) is a beautiful luxury hotel-type facility next to the Village gondola. The other project is Tallus, a fractional high-end residential project on the 10th fairway of Sierra Star. Both projects sold poorly and went into receivership by 2009. Today they are operated and there are units available.
